Program
Description: |
The
purpose of the Leadership for Economic Development initiative is to
enhance the leadership capability of individuals and community leaders
by providing them with the requisite skills in leadership such as visioning,
strategic planning, personal leadership and ethics, strategies for effective
problem solving, decision-making, and resource development through grant
writing and establishing 501c (3) organizations. The class is normally
conducted over a 10-week period. |

that support the Leadership for Economic Development are: Brochure that gives overview of the program Several handouts, in ring binders, covering each major area of training |

The
Barbour County Improvement Association, the Sardis Unity Fellowship,
Christian Light Fellowship, and Love in Action, after completing the
training course wrote grants and received funding to support programs
for after-school and at-risk students. The grants supported the purchase
of computers, software and other items for use by the students. |
