coalition of statewide women’s organizations was formed to address
the status of women in terms of educational, economic well-being, and
health access. Ongoing regional conferences provide educational workshops,
access to resources, and networking. |

Anecdotal
reports indicate participants have gotten involved in voter registration,
get-out-the-vote campaigns, and local community-based activities. Mail
and telephone surveys are being conducted this summer to assess other
impacts. The coalition continues to work together to plan future conferences
as well as share information and resources among their respective organizations. |
